THE EUROPEAN SOCIAL FORUM

EUROPEAN EDUCATION NETWORK ASSEMBLY

Since the last Social European Forum, which took place in Malmö, we have been discussing the need to meet at European level to exchange our experiences and make some progress towards debating strategies and planning common strategies.

At the Preparatory Assembly (EPA) of the Social European Forum (FSE) in Vienna (June 2009), we advanced towards this aim. We considered that the following FSE should have education as one of its central and specific themes and we proposed to celebrate an assembly on education in EPA in February in Berlin before the following FSE in June 2010 in Istanbul.

After this agreement, the convenience to celebrate, an assembly, prior to Berlin’s assembly, which facilitated the exchange of experiences, the preparation of Berlin’s assembly and the content of the FSE in Istanbul was discussed in the European network.

Therefore, the organizations, present at the Preparatory Assembly of the FSE on the 25^th and 26^th of September in Diyarbakir (Turkey), have considered it to be convenient to call an ASSEMBLY OF THE EUROPEAN NETWORK OF EDUCATION (FSE), which would take place on the 13^th and 14^th of November in Valencia.
